Potassium Sorbate, a man-made chemical preservative that has been used for almost 200 years in the baking industry to prevent mold, yeast and microbes. It’s an odorless and tasteless salt produced from sorbic acid and potassium hydroxide. Its commonly used in cakes, icings, beverage syrups, cheese, dried fruits, margarine, pie fillings and wine.
